Battles take place across a horizontal battlefield partitioned into several defensive trenches. You deploy units by clicking unit cards along the interface bar using the mouse. Recruited squads emerge from your side of the map and march into the nearest allied trench to take cover and exchange fire.

To advance, click a garrisoned squad and order them to sprint toward the next trench. Victory comes from either pushing your soldiers past the enemy's final defensive line or crushing opposing morale down to zero through sustained casualties and captured ground.
Conserving morale is just as vital as territorial control. If your troops suffer heavy losses in exposed territory, your army may surrender before reaching the objective. Establish solid machine gun suppression before ordering rifle squads over the top into hostile fire.
Between skirmishes, allocate earned experience points wisely across the campaign upgrade tree. Enhancing artillery accuracy, reducing reinforcement cooldowns, and boosting squad health will turn the tide in harder historical encounters.
